Guest guest
FDA just approved a new sleep med - Lunestra - that's supposed to be safe for every night use without a tolerance build up, addiction or rebound insomnia. Due on market in January. It's the sort of drug those of us who can only dream of stage 3/4 sleep can, well, only dream of. Proof is in the (pill) popping of course. Drug maker is Sepracor. Lunestra is a single isomer derivative of zopiclone, a hypnotic available in Canada and Europe but not in the US. michael
Guest guest
My HMO pharmacy (Kaiser) said they would charge the higher price as ambien, restoril, etc are available, but my doctor said he would press my case for an affordable price; but he " gets it " re: sleep problems and CFS. I'd still pay extra $$$ for a month just to see if it helps or not if I have to. michael hi i read the estimated wholesale price was 3.70 a pill but often can be found cheaper but still higher priced than most on the market... people may also want to consider getting their mds to do sleep studys to see if a medical promblem causing sleep promblems and i am not sure if long term studies done on this ..tealk > [Original Message] > From: <Msa0002@...> > < > > Date: 12/16/2004 1:19:15 AM > Subject: Re: new sleep med > > > FDA just approved a new sleep med - Lunestra - that's supposed to be safe > for every night use without a tolerance build up, addiction or rebound > insomnia. Guest guest
As those of you who have been here awhile know, I have had years long problems with 'insomnia'. I have tried everything from many antidepressants to natural products to sleep rx's. I started on a new med about a month ago, and it has worked very well, with no side or after affects (drowsiness, etc.). It is called Rozerem, and it is by RX only. From what I understand, Rozerem does not add to the melatonin we already have in our brains, but helps the melatonin we produce to work better. It is a non-narcotic, non-addicting medication. I am on a small dose (8mg.) and the only thing that works differently for me that what the literature says is that it takes about an hour for Rozerem to help me sleep...not the 30 minutes the literature describes. Just wanted to share about something that has helped me a great deal. Love... Tess
