Guest guest
Number of confirmed eye infections climbs: CDC Last Updated: 2006-05-05 15:29:01 -0400 (Reuters Health) CHICAGO (Reuters) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday said it has confirmed 102 cases of a serious eye infection that has hurt the fortunes of eye products maker Bausch & Lomb. The CDC is investigating an outbreak of Fusarium keratitis, a potentially blinding eye infection. The total number of confirmed cases is up from 86 confirmed cases as of May 2. A large percentage of the confirmed cases have been users of Bausch & Lomb's ReNu with MoistureLoc product, which the company pulled from store shelves last month. The CDC did not provide an update on how many of the confirmed cases of the infection used Bausch & Lomb products but said the percentage of ReNu with MoistureLoc users has remained consistent throughout its investigation. http://www.reutershealth.com/en/index.html Not an MD I'll tell you where to go!
