Guest guest
fight the problem with not getting my triplicate pain meds ahead of time? I called the Rheumy to get a prescription mailed to the pharmacy because I would run out tonight. The smart mouth on the phone said she couldn't write the script until Wednesday and sent a faxed copy to the pharmacy at that time. The pharmacy won't respond to a fax even though a good friend of mine works there and even fills my scripts. Now they didn't get the script and they won't be in the office again until Monday and I took my last one tonight! It would cost me $25 just in gas to drive to get the script each month and I certainly can't afford that on top of everything else. Any suggestions or am I stuck with this as long as I take Morphine? Guest guest
Dennis, my husband gets the same sort of thing. They will not write the script even one day early and then he has to take it to the pharmacy within 48 hours. That takes the entire day. Here the doctors are double wary because of one local pain specialist is serving 20 years. I doubt if anyone knows if this is deserved or not. The actions of a few can ruin it for many as is happening with the airline travel at this point. Betty Re: [ ] How do I Dennis, unfortunately you are probably stuck in their red tape, no matter what you take, but for controlled substances, they really go to the extremes. On top of everything else, I'm sorry you have to put up with this, too. Guest guest
Hi Dennis; Sorry about the bereaucratic aggravation. I got a kick out of " the smart mouth on the phone.... " Aren't they all? Don't you just want to wring their neck? Hang in there. betnden@... wrote: fight the problem with not getting my triplicate pain meds ahead of time? Guest guest
I'm going to do more than " wring her neck " . The script is still not at the pharmacy and there will be no more mail delivery until Monday. I'm going to find out who runs that show and see about getting her fired, or at least suffer something for the pain she caused me. I'm convinced that if she had mailed the script out when I requested it, I'd be in fair shape rather than in pain because of no meds. This problem isn't bureaucratic, it's an " in-house " policy and I'm going to get it changed if possible. There's no reason for this to happen! I'm also going to change pain meds, to what, I don't know yet, but it won't be a triplicate. Guest guest
-Dennis, I find that they are very ANAL about their rules for MS Contin...no doubt due to problems in the past with drug seekers and addicts. Now people who have a legitimate reason and script for the pain meds must jump through the same hoops as the addicts to get their meds. It is maddening at times. I just try to stay on top of it and make all my appts..because if I miss an appt...I don't get my script and I run out. I HAVE to show up in the office (a 170 mile round trip)every month to get my Rx!!!! They won't mail a thing to drug store/company. Also..I have an emergecy bottle of MS that I have carefully added to each month...if I have 1 or 2 left over at the end of the month and get my rx filled a day or two early (the most I have ever gotten away with)...then I have a few to tuck away for a weekend without any meds! I know that this is a real problem for you right now! And that what I say can only help for next time...but I do feel for you...I have been there. Hopefully you have some vicodin left over from before you went on MS ?? or a nice PCP who will write you a holdover Rx for a few Vicodin on Monday?? just until you get your MS ??? maybe thats a way to go for now?? althought you still have to get through the weekend. I am sorry I can't help more! ...jenna -- In , <betnden@...> wrote: > > fight the problem with not getting my triplicate pain meds ahead of time?
