Guest guest
Don't know if it's CA, or because I'm only on Vicodin, but I can get refills. The script is on a different form, and has at least a duplicate. I haven't tried to have him call in a refill yet, so don't know if that works or not. When my daughter-in-law in Minnesota had a C-section and ran out of Percoset, I had to drive 45 minutes to her doctor's (she stayed late to wait for me, bless her!) in January, then take the script to the pharmacy and wait for it. I guess there they have to hand it to you, and there are no refills. You need a new script every time. On 8/12/06, T <spinningdyke@...> wrote: > > Dennis, > Hi, I have a similar problem. Guest guest
I didn't thinnk it was doing anything for me until I didn't take them for a couple of days. It sneaks in over a short period of time and leaves the same way. At least that's what it does for me. I'm still in a fight to get my MS Contin that I ran out of last Friday. Someone somewhere lost the mail and I can't get anything until the script is found or expires or something. And although the doc's office can't understand it, the office manager is saying I'm being rude! I wonder why? They are also swearing that I have a prescription for another pain med from another doctor, which is a total lie, and I can't find out where it's coming from. Maybe I'll get enough adrenelin flowing from this to override the pain for a while. Guest guest
Dennis, This is just awful, what you are going through is absolutely inexcusable. I can't believe the rudeness of some people, the very people that are suppose to be helpful to us are just the opposite. They know what your diagnosis is and the amount of pain you are in and yet they act like this, as the french say " Les Incompetent " . It's terrible that you can't get the meds until the prescription that was lost in the mail is found and I guess they say that is your fault the mail was lost. Where was it mailed, to the pharmacy or to your home? Did it ever occur to them that perhaps it was never mailed, that someone in the office screwed up and forgot to mail it. Of course they will never admit it, they would rather you suffer in pain than admit to a mistake. Why can't they mail one to the pharmacy, that way they can call to verify that the pharmacy is the one you always use and can verify the last time the prescription was filled. If the prescription that was lost is found the pharmacy won't fill it because it will be too soon. If they say they can only mail it to you, they can call the pharmacy to make sure you did not fill the prescription and mail you a new one. They say you got a prescription for a different pain med from a different doctor. Did they tell you what pain med, what doctor and where you had it filled and on what day? If they can't, then they should provide you with the prescription you need. Is it possible to talk to the doctor and let him/her know the type of treatment you are receiving from their staff? Sometimes, doing so does wonders to remedy the situation. It just riles my temper to here of the total lack of competence and lack of compliance that we have to endure just to get what we need in order to function. We are not asking to run a marathon, just asking to be functional and as pain free as possible, I guess that's too much to ask these days. Good luck, I hope things work out and you soon have the drugs you need for your pain. Guest guest
Janet and , Thanks for the warning about morphine. None of my docs ever gave me it. My muscle relaxant Soma can make me dopey within hour after I take it. So I definately don't drive. Otherwise it works great. Guest guest
> > I am a newbie to this group however I am not knew to groups nor medication. of course you are going to be sick after taking morphine, it is a very highly addictive drug and anyone will tell you that you don't just stop cold turkey, you have to stop slowly. May I ask what kind of pain medication were you taking prior to the morphine, it is very hard to become dependent on any drug in 5 days unless you are using something else that is highly addictive. Sorry if you don't agree with me, take what you like and leave the rest > susan happybluerainbow > > You must be talking to me, and the pain meds I was on befor were ,Darvocet and I have been on that most of my adult life, and right from that I was on methadone for the pain and that made me sick and then the Pain DR. Pill Pusher that he is put me on the morphine. I was so out of my head that I did not even know what was going on. At one point my hubby took me to the ER, because I was so out of it even when I stopped taking the morphine they took him I was having withdraws from it and just keep a eye on me. maybe I am just super sensitive to the stuff. It did nothing for me but make me sick. I don't know what the drs. are thinking any more I just live with the pain and just take what i have to take the edge off. I know I will never be pain free Hell I remember have pain 23 yrs ago Infact I do not remember not having pain.. well take care and try to stay pain free as you can.
