Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm so sorry for being MIA - I'm in a bit of a dog rescue nightmare. Luna is being very good with us and seems to be bonding fine. She wants to kill our pet bunny, but I think I can work on that. The issue I'm most concerned with is extreme aggression towards other dogs/people. I'm just a basket case b/c I really need a dog that is going to be good in public, around other people, around other animans and around kids. I took her to my vet for an assessment and my vet's feeling is that she is a fearful/shy dog and that could result in fear biting. But, she didn't feel that the dog was beyond hope - so she gave me the name of some trainers and I'm going to pursue that avenue for now. DH really wants to try - personally, I want to throw in the towel, give it time, and try again in the future w/ another dog. But, I think I will, for now, go w/ DH and try it - right? So, that is my tale (no pun intended) of woe for right now! I have learned a few lessons though - next time I go through a rescue, I want to meet the dog at my home, I want to walk the dog in a busy environment and I want a "trial" period. I don't need this.... The dog basically is a goofball around us - right now she is barking at herself. She also does allow us to take away food, treats and toys from her so she is not acting aggressively towards us. Bottom line is - I'm afraid I have a loose cannon in the house and I am afraid someone will be hurt. I have been working out though - doing my Tracie Long workouts! Thanks for listening.
