Guest guest
Patrcia and group; May I call you Patty. I asked that question once. AT the time I was in constant pain. I didnt go without pain unless I was sleeping. The second I woke up I was in pain each and every day from RA. When I started the humira injections the pain stopped with in 12 hours The injections help the RA so much I thought I could do anything.. I didnt do a lot. A couple months later I got up one morning stiff and hurting. I limped to my pc and wrote to the group emmideitly. I asked did the injections quit working I am in so much pain. I was totally freaked. I had my husband rub me down with ben gay after a hot shower. Later I came back on feeling somewhat better and I got post from the group.. They all said about the same thing. Did the weather change. Did you do more than usual all at once. They calmed me down. I realized I was having a flare. I get them from time to time. Sometimes all day sometimes for a few hours. THats what a flare is. THat is my opinion. It can be called other things too. THe group is very smart they will tell you also. gentle hugs Clora ************************************************************ > Hi All~ > Just what are flare ups? > I've had so many people tell me different things about flare ups & how > long they last. > Does anyone really know? > Also, anyone live in Bergen County New Jersey? > I live here & there are no supports groups to go to that I know of, > unless someone know of one. > > Have a great day. > >
Guest guest
Hi - I have RA/FMS and at first I was unable to tell the difference between the flares. Basically, the flare ups are when the disease is REALLY active and you are in more pain than normal. As for how long the flares last, there are too many factors to know for sure. It is different for each person. I live in Florida - sorry I couldn't help with the group thing. Have you checked with the Arthritis Foundation online http://www.arthritis.org/ . You might find something in your area from there............Doreen > > Hi All~ > Just what are flare ups? > I've had so many people tell me different things about flare ups & > how long they last. > Does anyone really know? > Also, anyone live in Bergen County New Jersey? > I live here & there are no supports groups to go to that I know of, > unless someone know of one. > > Have a great day. > >
