Friday ride

I went for my first-of-the-season bike ride Friday. Ouch! My hip bones felt that

seat a lot! I understand that they will eventually get used to the bike seat,

but I don't know if I can take the " breaking in " period.

We're experiencing the worst drought in my lifetime here. Despite drip

irrigation to the garden, the zucchini are dying off. The cukes, maters and

peppers are doing okay with it. (The cherry tomatoes are coming on now. I have

to fight my family for them! They make great pop-in-your-mouth snacks!) Drip

irrigation is great, and easy to set up -- a slow release into the ground so

that it all soaks in directly where needed. I just didn't set out enough

emitters for the zukes, I guess.
