Guest guest
I will definitely update everyone on the progress. If your tendons ruptured that seems like it would make it more difficult. The ulnar drift is on my right hand so I will have to learn to type more with the left. On my left hand though I have a ruptured tendon in my thumb. Since it has been awhile Dr. Wittstadt will have to reattach the tendon to my index finger tendon somehow. Not sure how that would work but it is done a lot and works. My main questions for afterwards, considering I won't have tendon repair per se is about therapy and how long the pain stays. When I had my knee arthoscopy I was told my recovery time would be 6-8 weeks! I had a torn meniscus but other than that it was just the typical RA clean out. They worried about crutches and I thought I was done for. Post op I was ready to walk out the door...no pain. Never had pain. Didn't have pain with my trigger finger release or my baker cyst removal. Of course this ulnar drift correction will be totally different but I was curious about what real people went through...the doctors sometimes work it up a little bit. I looked at the MCP surgeries (can't find much about what I am getting done on the web) and it didn't seem too bad. But given the soft tissue is the focus and will be getting cut, sewn and moved it does look like a few weeks of pain. Shandi
