Dordale,

I say go for it! Joint damage is irreversible. You still can't make a

fist? The thinking now is to treat RA very aggressively so that joint

damage hopefully won't happen. I've been on Enbrel for about two and a

half years, without any adverse side effects. It's doing a great job

for me. I don't think that I have any joint damage at all, and I can

now make a fist and open jars and bottles and squeeze out a dish cloth.

You're doing " pretty good " now, but you may do even better on Enbrel.

Don't be afraid of injecting yourself; you'll be an old pro soon after

you start. I look forward to my shots now, because I know the good that

they do me. I prefer the 25 mg twice weekly Enbrel, because it seems to

last better for me.

Good luck!

Sue

Thanks Sue--

It's good to read about people doing so well on Enbrel (or the other

biologics)...

I do have some very small erosions--but, unfortunately my baseline

x-rays from about a year ago aren't very good quality, so my rhuemy

couldn't tell me if the erosions were new or not.

Regarding giving myself shots--I've been telling myself and people

around me that it won't bother me...but truth be told, I'm a little

nervous! As you say, though after the first few, I'll be an old pro.

I'll be calling my rheumy's office next week to get them to start the

insurance approval process.

Thanks again!!

dordale :)

Sue,

Hope you don't mind the intursion on yours and dordale's conversion, but I am

on the enbrel for a month now, and I am very tired and lathargtic, all the

time, my wrist, fingers, and feet and ankles, and legs below my knees hurt

more when I sit and go to get up,have you experinced this? I was just

curious, if it could be the enbrel, or something else. You can email me at

my personal email, that way I don't miss the answer. It's

bigsis135@...

thanks Rhonda
