question about foot surgery

My name is Jennell and I am posting this question to try to help my

gramma. She is scheduled to see an orthopedic surgeon about her feet at

the end of February. She has severely disfigured feet, her toes are not

straight anymore and are almost at a 90 degree angle. The joints of the

big toe are huge and she has a bone on the top of her foot pushing up

the skin. She asked if I could do some research on the internet for

joint replacement in the feet or other surgery methods. Everything I

found was confusing. This site seems like a logical spot. I was

wondering if there is anyone out there who has had surgery on their

feet recently? She takes methotrexate and is in her 70s. I would like

to know how others have managed, if they were happy with the results

and what the name of the procedure is that is done.
