Guest guest
Hi Bridget: Welcome to the wonderful world (not) of Fibro. You have not turned stupid - you probably are experiencing what we call Fibro fog. It's one of the syptoms of Fibro - difficulty with words, finding the right words, then trying to say them and saying something else, congnitive problems, memory problems, forgetfulness, etc. My family, too, wonders where my brain went lol. I will gasp in pain when my tender points are even touched lightly, these are the trigger points of Fibro. The skin pain you have is caused by Fibro - is it burning, aching pain? Is your skin sensitive to touch? Fatigue is also a symptom. Do you have IBS, migraines, growing pains as a child, balance problems, sleep problems, etc. I will repost something I got on Fibro that shows all the things that can go along. I have just about everything lol. No it is not cureable, but with medications it can be liveable. There are flares just like with RA, except that you will feel it in the muscles of your body rather than the joints, although you will also have joint stiffness from the Fibro, just not the heat and swelling of RA. I take Ultracet for pain (use this for RA too), muscle relaxants (Skelaxin and Zanaflex), Lyrica for nerve pain, and Ambien for sleep. I also belong to the Fibromyalgia/CFS support group through groups, and it has helped me, you might want to check it out. Sorry you have Fibro, but glad you are here.
