Guest guest
for federico_zamarripa@... I could not take the oral type. I got very ill and horrible bowel problems. I also get almost immediate relief. I have been on for about 2 years now and had to go off last summer because I developed pneumonia which lasted for several months. I do self injection, they call it a sub que. Into the muscle in upper leg. My husband has been trained too so he can give it to me if I want him to...we haven't tried that yet. He is willing, I am not...yet. For the pain of the disease, it has worked better than anything else I have been on. It stopped my uveitis for quite a while too and the bowel problems from IBD. However, I am having a problem tolerating the injection for the last 4-5 months. Just the thought of it makes me ill. I know it sounds stupid, but I can't help it. I went off again 4 weeks ago and I am just starting to notice some 7-8s on the pain scale again. Hadn't had that for a while. I'll probably go back on again in a few more weeks. I'm hoping the break will allow me to self administer again. It costs $15 per poke if you have it done at the clinic. Finally, you are not supposed to drink any alcohol while on it. That is one drawback and blood tests every 6 weeks are kind of a pain. But you have to weigh the pros & cons. Hope this helps you sorry for the delay--been pretty busy. Guest guest
I was on injectable MTX after my stomach could not handle the pills. I was fatigued, a little queasy, and just generally crappy for a couple days afterwards which my rheumy said wash " the norm " I had to stop it however, because obvious damage was still occuring while on it, yesterday I began taking Enbrel. Hope it works out for you. take care. kerri sue N2kids@... wrote: In a message dated 1/5/2006 6:54:03 PM Central Standard Time, snowdrift52003@... writes: Had a good visit today--regained my trust in my rheumy. Guest guest
I am curious. What kind of damage did you have occur that you stopped the MTX? Liver? I was on MTX and it was just making me too sick to continue. But my rheummy said MTX in combination with Enbrel works better. Good luck Toni > > > > In a message dated 1/5/2006 6:54:03 PM Central Standard Time, > snowdrift52003@y... writes: > > Had a good visit today--regained my trust in my rheumy.
