Just wanted to share an update on the “below” project.

[That is probably also why I'm not a rich consultant - lol! I

just recently

had a project where I did a 2 and a 1/2 hour

visual assessment on a home,

but did not take any samples. The seller of

the home got very upset with my

report, which had many pages of photo

documentation along with a plan of

action to address and correct the moisture issues

which had led to the mold

growth in the first place. They proceeded to

call in their own company who

came in and was directed where to sample by the

seller's realtor. Of course

the air samples showed nothing substantial, never

mind the growing carpet,

eaten tack strip, etc. etc.]

When I found out what friendly competitor I was dealing with, I

proceeded to

call them and had already obtained permission from my client to share

my report

with them, which I did. Apparently, in the 6 days in between my

visit and their

visit, many of the items which I had noted (and photo documented) had

been

“covered up.” The other company was very thankful (as

from a liability perspective,

their necks were on the line.) The remediation protocol was then

modified to include

at least “exploration” in the areas which I had

noted. According to the company

as of yesterday, I was on the money, and the remediation company was

still there.

Albeit, none of the issues which led to the moisture intrusion have

been addressed,

(which was my first “plan of attack” in my recommendations.)

I can’t help but

have more faith in Karma and “what goes around comes around”

from this experience.

I just want the house to be “good” for the future occupants

– whomever they shall be.

Moral of my story: Don’t ever let “ego” get involved

when it comes to seeing something

through, whether its sharing a report with a “competitor”

or standing up for what

you know is “right.” Do what you must to sleep well at

night!

Happy Saturday!
