Guest guest
I only caught part of it, but there was a news report on TV about a single mom that entered an on-line contest where only 2 awards would be made. The prizes were 2 fancy cars worth $40,000, and she won one of them. Now, before she can even get it, the state wants to take all her 'welfare' away because she owns too valuable car. All the kid's benefits and her stuff will be gone. She can't sell it because then she'll have too much money. It's a no-win situation, and disgusting at that. Guest guest
No, Tracie, I doubt I'll be able to tell you the results of this story. You know how it works, don't you? The local news spends the 30 second allotment telling that the story exists and does the 'tear factor', and nothing is heard of it again. At 11:15 AM the local station breaks in with the morning announcement: " The world will come to an end at 2:30 this afternoon. News at Eleven " . There's another thing going on here that may be standard everywhere, I don't know. But, if I were to go on Medicade because of low or no income, and I die before my wife, everything is okay until she passes. Then the State steps in and takes the entire estate until they get all the money back from the Medicade recieved during the entire time! Is that normal? Guest guest
Dennis, I had a dead beat ex husband who owed nearly 200,000.00 in child support. We called the Texas attorney general's office for help. We found out where he was living, and called with that information. This was after 10 years of him skipping out every time we found him. After being on hold for 45 minutes, we got this....person....who told me that since he didn't have any utilities in his name at that address they had no proof of his residence. When we told them we had actually seen him at this address, the answer we got? " You don't pay enought taxes for us to have an enforcement officer camp on his doorstep 24/7/. " Yet when we went through an enforcement agency, the AG's office tried to take credit for finding him! What a piece of work. > > I only caught part of it, but there was a news report on TV about a single > mom that entered an on-line contest where only 2 awards would be made. Guest guest
Unfortunately they do this kind of rotten thing here in Canada. A young single mom to twin boys lives on my street. A relative passed away, leaving her $5000. She was in seventh heaven thinking of all the places this money could be used. No such luck as they cut off her welfare payments until this money was used up for rent etc. What a blow this was for her and the boys. Hugs June ----- Original Message ----- From: betnden@...
