How about good Rheumys in North TX? Anyone have any good docs to

recommend in the Dallas/Plano area? Mine is not on my insurance plan for

next year.

Dr. phs in Carrollton is supposed to be

excellent. I could not get in to see him. Too long of

a wait. Take him and only him. His partner is quack

Mohan Penmetcha. Tami

HI Tami,

I just thought I'd let you know -- don't feel bad that you weren't

able to see Dr. ph in Carrollton. I saw him recently and wasn't

impressed at all -- he was (in my opinion) incompetetent and

unprofessional. I won't be going back. Do you see someone else in

the Dallas area?

Take care,

, no I have not seen any rheumy's since march.

The last experience left me with issues on rheumy's. I

am moving to Dallas Co. soon and hopefully will find a

good one through UT Southwestern. Tami

Tami, I live in Plano. I was seeing Dr. Rushing, who is at Presby on

Walnut Hill; however, last year my insurance plan changed and Rushing

wasn't in-network. That's why I saw Dr. ph. However, this year my

plan changed back and Rushing is on it again. I'm going to go back to

Rushing again, although I wish I could find someone closer. Also, he's

not young (he's got to be at least in his late 60s if not 70s), so I

don't know how much longer he'll be practicing.

If you find a good rheumy, let me know! One other doctor I wouldn't

recommend is Brodsky, who is also on Walnut Hill. He misdiagnosed my

daughter who has scleroderma and had an abrasive personality.

have someone close by me. Between the two of us we are

bound to find someone. Tami

I also need to find a rheumy. I live in Far North Fort Worth, but work in

Carrollton. If I could find one in either of those areas that was good and

pleasant I would be thrilled. Right now I'm still seeing my wonderful Primary

Care Doc. He's good and thorough, but think I may need to see an actual

Rheumatologist. I am out of town this week on business, but when I get back he's

sending me to get hands xrayed and sending me to a doctor in Grapevine, but he's

orthopedic doctor I believe. For now I'm on Methtrexate 12.5 mg weekly and

Humira every other week. When I try to determine if the pain is better or worse,

I have to say the original joint that first started this whole new chapter in my

life is feeling better, it's not nearly as inflamed, but of course I have a lot

of additional joint pain than when I was first diagnosed. It's a journey and one

that I wouldn't wish on anyone, but I'm blessed that I can still work and manage

day to day. My worst frustration in the brain

fogs. Somedays I can't seem to write what I'm thinking or remember simple

things like names. That and my new found clumsiness. I seem to trip and fall on

regular occasion now, and falling on painful wrists and hands is almost

unbearable. I'm also fortunate that my husband is so supportive and I can have

cry once in a while after a fall and the subsequent anger that comes with self

pity - like it's not fair, I hurt bad enough without having to fall on my

painful swollen joints. But I know its just something else that I have to learn

to live with.

Anyway, I know this is my longest post yet, but I do get great information and

comfort from all of you. I'm beginning to feel like I know many of you

personally. Thank you all. Any good Rheumy Names for North Texas are always

welcome.
