nice try, , but you're not fooling anyone. I simply parrotted YOUR use of the descriptor "Neanderthal" -- that was YOUR CHOICE OF VERBIAGE, not mine. YOUR WORDS were Neanderthal and Remediator in the same sentence (see text in red below). indeed, you and your firm may be eminently qualified to perform the remediation work. that job simply requires a DIFFERENT TYPE of diligence, intelligence, experience and education than does serving as the environmental consultant (your word: "IEP").

it's become abundantly clear, however, since you've joined this list that you have insufficient mastery of the knowledge base required to serve as the environmental consultant (EC). due to a lack of sufficient information, I am not in a position to make a determination as to your competence as a remediator. your bluster and bravado on this forum, however, have left no doubt about the exceedingly simplistic view -- indeed the distain -- that you hold for ECs, and their critical and complementary role in this industry.

for ECs that are truly serious about their profession, some aspects are in fact akin to "rocket science" (again, your words). if one takes the time to make a diligent study of the literature, it can become remarkably complex; the ties to the research and academic communities are fascinating. the multifaceted, multidisciplinary nature of my role as the EC is what makes my job so very enjoyable, and feeds my passion for this work. don't insult me and other qualified ECs by trivializing what we do.

Wane,

I guess that is the final word then...

Determining whether mold has been properly cleaned out of homes is rocket science.

No doubt not many mold remediators are rocket scientists. And no doubt most ECs are. Taking a 4 day course and getting Certified as an IEP will turn anyone into a rocket scientist ... I'm sure.

So S520 should be revised to state that the remediator should never use their judgement about calling in an EC (IEP). No work should be done unless a rocket scientist can be called in.

I stand corrected.
