Guest guest
I milk my churros. It is better to have them socialized with lots of handling as early as possible but I do not bottle feed unless I have to. : ) Shery Sunspring Ranch sheep milk I've been very interested in triple purpose sheep for many years. My friend tells me that I can milk navajo-churros (of which I'm blessed to have one who is now old enough to breed) and so I look forward to being able to try this myself.I was very interested in the East Friesians and polypays. I know the polypays are fairly hardy for this climate, but the people I know who had them here had never even tried milking them.I was curious if it was better to handraise the ewes intended for milking animals somewhat like the dairy goats?Thankful for a nice rain today in OK,
Guest guest
I am milking girls - mostly East Friesian/Lacaune with a fair percentage of Polypay. I am going to dearly miss their milk on my cereal in the morning (most of the milk is going into cheese) in the fall. I believe that the main reason for handraising the lambs for milking purposes is to allow one to begin milking sooner and take advantage of the higher production early in the lactation.
