Guest guest
Dear Patty and all, It seems that alot of the articles/information posted on this site are about the dangers with silicone implants. Are there any recent articles on saline implants. Thanks
Guest guest
The dangers from silicone and saline remain the same, with the exception that saline don't have silicone gel particles seeping from the inside of the shell, (but we have fungal and bacterial stuff growing instead.) However, both have silicone particles that can be shed from the shell itself. In answer to the question on articles regarding saline implants, I am not aware of any or I would post them! I don't think they are being studied seriously by anyone anymore, as everyone's mind seems to be made up that implants are safe. By the way, I was interviewed last week by a woman from the magazine "First for Women" for an article they would like to do regarding the down side of breast implants. I also was requested to send pictures. I am not sure what they have in store as of yet, but I will let you all know when they contact me further. I have also suggested that they do stories on some of our girls here on the group, but I am still waiting to hear back from them for a final interview. Guest guest
Lilly I am so sorry for all the problems you have had and I also think they are from your implants. My symptoms are/were very similar to yours and I am very lucky I found this group to let me know that I wasn't going crazy! There are many doctors recommended on the site that have been used by the women here that have had good results - you can read up on them in the files section. I have a small child (3) also so I can definitely understand with your feelings there. Getting my implants removed was the best decision I ever made!! shari
Guest guest
Lilly, you are exhibiting symptoms that almost all of us have at one point since getting implants. You're definitely in the right place! I'm sure your implants still look beautiful - mine did too! I never thought they could be causing my problems. 99% of my pain and symptoms were nowhere near my breasts. I had joint pain, neck pain, jaw pain, headaches, fatigue, depression, hormone imbalances, you name it, I had it. It took 4 years for me to finally link my problems to my implants. I would guess that most of us here have had to go to a different PS to take the implants out. The ones that put them in tend to tell us we're crazy or that we'll look deformed if they take them out. If yours tells you that, don't listen! We have some wonderful doctors on our list that know how to take them out correctly. Where are you from? If you want to read our stories, go to the " Files " section and then to Implant/Explant stories. You'll be surprised at how much you sound like the rest of us. I pictured myself when I read your story. I'm glad that you found us. If I hadn't found this group, I'd still be going through this alone and scared. I thought I was dying of some terrible illness that the doctors just couldn't diagnose. I prayed to God to lead me to a place where I would find the truth, and He did. I was lead here, I found the truth, got them out, and I'm on the road to recovery. Last year at this time I wanted to just not wake up in the morning. If I had to live in the pain, fatigue and fog that I was in, I didn't want to live anymore. That's when I accidentally came across some info linking saline implants and illness and then someone referred me to this group. Thank God! This year, I've been able to take my kids to the amusement park AND walk everywhere! Last year I thought if I went I would have to ride in a handicap cart. I'm also exercising (riding a stationary bike), watching some kids, taking care of my 17 month old grandson, re- decorating parts of my house, actually cleaning my house, and on and on. I just got my implants out in December. I felt better immediately and then got worse for a few months. Now I'm only having flares every now and then. I still have pain and fatigue and I take pain meds, but, I'm weaning down off of them too. Just wanted you to know that there is hope. You can get better and you will. Love ya. Glad you're here. Guest guest
- Dear lilly Wow. You are definitely reacting to your implants. Get them out. Your are developing autoimmune symptoms and your best chance to get better is to have them out as soon as reasonably possible. You probably shouldn't go to the same ps that implanted you. First, he will not believe the implants are making you sick. He most likely will try to convince you otherwise and may even say things that are totally not true. Like " you'll be sorry if you get them out " or " you will look deformed " etc. Many women here heard these type of things when they approached the implanting surgeon. In addition, he may refuse. Or he may not remove them en bloc (meaning removing the capsules as well). Your best bet is to go to a doctor recommended on this site or whom you interview and find to be sympathetic to your situatiion, experienced, and knowledgeable on explant removal. After getting them out, you will still need to improve your health through proper detoxing, diet, cleansing etc. Rest assured many women on this site have regained significant health back. Your kids and husband deserve to have you well. YOu were led here for a reason. Where do you live? Perhaps that would help us recommend someone close by. Guest guest
Dear Beth You are very depressed right now and I can't blame you. You have been dealt an awful blow and it seems like life is hopeless. But it isn't. Believe it or not, things can always change. There is always hope. Many women on this site could attest to this fact. When do you think you will be getting explanted? Until then, there are still things you can do to try and improve your health while you are waiting. Have your tried any cleanses or detoxes? Many women have been helped by diet changes and addressing candida. These are not easy and don't produce quick results. But in the long term they will begin to make a difference. One of the women on this site felt very disabled at a very young age too. After explantation she tried everything without seemingly any changes. She was very depressed. but after about 2 years things began to change and she is doing much better. And has a wonderful boyfriend. Like you, I think she didn't feel that would ever happen while she was so sick. Her boyfriend knows that she is still not well (but on her way!) but he is very understanding. So there is always reason to hope. Another woman on this site was barely hanging in there. She was always in pain, fatigue, etc. She started doing the antibiotic therapy before being explanted and many other health measures too. In spite of that, months went by with her feeling like she couldn't stand it any longer. She was finally explanted. Soon after that she started feeling much better. She hardly posts anymore because she is so busy working and having a life again. Lastly, I recently posted about having gone through six years of deep depression---before that I had never been depressed. So many times I thought of ending it and being scared that I could not go on anymore. Because of the pain, the fatigue, and the depression itself making me not care about anything at all. Just in this past month or so has my depression significantly lifted. I think i am finally in that stage of my healing that my brain function is getting more back to normal. So believe that you will get better. And work at getting there. We will be here to support you in anyway we can. Hugs and best wishes kathy > > HI..I AM GLAD I FOUND THIS WEBSITE.
