What kind of calcium are you taking ? It should be calcium citrate best for absorption and taken with Vit. D. If I were you I would be on one of the new drugs that stops bone loss, and sometimes can even add bone...or it will be a losing battle. Guest guest
Hi Debbie. Your endocrinologist should be monitoring your levels through blood tests. Here is an interesting site that has information on parathyroid disfunction: http://parathyroid.com/hypoparathyroidism.htm They recommend taking vitamin D. Are you taking D? a On May 8, 2006, at 4:57 PM, Debbie Lohf wrote: > Hello, > > After reading the recent post explaining calcium and magnesium > consumption, now I have questions. Guest guest
Hi Pris and a, Thanks for answering my note. I take carbonate because it's a one pill dose. Because I take many pills each day I don't want to take the citrate. The vitamin D I take is Rocaltrol 0.5mcg 10x weekly. There is also vitamin D in my calcium and multivitamin. My former endocrinologist last checked my lab in March. My calcium was 7.9. I see my new endo in June and he will check my lab. So far I don't have much tingling. thanks, Debbie L -- In , NELLIESTAR@... wrote: > > > In a message dated 5/8/06 4:25:48 PM, clohf@... writes: > > > > Is the amount of calcium and magnesium I am taking helping or > > hurting my bones? > > > > It will help you if you are losing bone due to calcium deficiency. > What kind of calcium are you taking ? > It should be calcium citrate best for absorption and taken with Vit. Guest guest
I saw Sally Field on the Tony Danza show today. She has been diagnosed with osteoporosis, and is speaking out about it to increase awareness. She said she is taking Boniva, and her awareness campaign is called " Rally With Sally For Bone Health. " I believe that she is probably being paid by the company that makes Boniva.
