Hi all! With the cold weather approaching I am thinking about the pain

that is to come. I have RA and OA. Which one is affected by the cold

weather, or, are both?

Thanks,

I am suffering right now, this minute like mad. We've had a change in

weather.

We have 82 degrees temp right now which is still somewhat warm but it's

better than the 100 plus we have had recently. They call it a " cold wave. "

Oh well if that's what they want to call it. Oh yes it's cloudy sticky

outside.

Just my oppinion.....grumble, grumble, grumble.

Yes I know it Mike. Much of the time when a low pressure comes through I

have to

hold to the wall to get from one room to the other. Man that is painful.

It probably

is bad for you as far north as you live. I was in a lot of pain this

morning but things

are somewhat better now. Right now it is 90 degrees and warm. I can't

remember

it being this cool in late August and early September.

You're right about the heat and cold. I too have Raynaud's disease but I

also have Hypothyroidism. It seems RA, Raynauds, and Hypothyroidism fight

against the other. With Hypo it is so difficult to tolerate the heat. I keep a

fan running all of the time because I perspire profusely in the summer time. It

just rolls down my face. When I get real hot I turn really red and it scares

anyone that sees me because they think I am sick. No fooling. I can control my

Raynauds as long as I don't hold anything cold in my hands. My hands turn blue

even in 100 degrees temp. Now RA is a different story. It shows it's ugly head

whether I like it or not summer or winter. But of course it's worse in the

winter. Many many times I have wished I could do the things I use to do.
