Guest guest
Sharon An excellent read on that article. It really points out the reality of education, enforcement, and practicality of safety. Generally fire fighters and first responders realize the hazards they face. But dedication to duty first ( saving lives ) most times hazard their own. General construction workers many times have a macho issues with protection, and later wish they had listened. There is a large division between working on a government site and private industry holding. Although both are regulated by the same working guidelines , safety and protection are some of the first items to be compromised on the private side in the face of production and scheduling.Use of EXPENDABLE labor that can't speak English and willingly works under hazard conditions to avoid another trip back to Mexico. Federal side will just pour more money into a project to make it right. Their way or the highway so to speak. You can bid at cost and make money on the change orders. Will be interesting to follow. $ vs. lives vs. who can get sued do to a terrorist act. Valin
