HI All....

Just a note on this subject. When we moved to Houston, we found the water so

over clorinated that it smells more like swimming pool water than drinking

water. So we went to drinking filtered & bottled water. We do drink diet sodas,

and have found that the " Fresca " line is pretty decent tasting, as they have 3

different flavors, & I have almost totally stopped drinking any diets colas

altogether, I am down to one or two a month now...which is really good for me!!!

We also have found the stores all carry the sugar free flavors that you can add

to your bottled waters so you at least have something with some flavor to it. (

I won't mention any brand names, but most grocery stores have them in the same

place Juice and dry drink mixes are located) I get bad muscle cramps at night,

and have found sugar free " Sports Drinks " mixes there also, and its been a big

help to me. I even found one brand that has an " Immune System " drink that has a

lot of vitamin and minerals in it, and I

believe between it and Zicam, I got over both of my winter colds much quicker

than I normally do.

As I have always had to drink lots of water...I've had 20 plus kidney

stones...but finding decent drinking water is sometimes a chore. I just know I

feel a lot better since I stopped drinking the caffinated colas daily. And it's

been nearly 3 years since I've had a stone!!!

Be careful on the intro of immune system enhancers. My roommate is a researcher

in biomed field and she looked at all the natural stuff I was taking and told me

that with the RA I do NOT want to enhance my immune system. OOPS!

I can totally see that since it is an autoimmune disease. I would love to

repress it if I could but we know that could start a whole new kittle of

problems.

Hmmm. That's interesting, because last fall, when I had to go on a

business trip, I talked to my rheumatologist about the fact that I

have been taking Airborne before flying for several years now. She

said that it wasn't a bad idea, with all the germs floating around in

a plane.

I certainly don't take stuff like that every day, but I do take it if

someone else in the house is sick, or if I think I might be coming

down with something. It definitely helps me get over colds faster.

I haven't noticed any negative effect on my RA.
