Guest guest
to show of a point here. I to know of a mom who had of 3 or 4 childrens all boys. the first two childrens becamed of autism, then the last child or two childrens she did not do any vaccines, did of the GF/CF diet during the pregnancy and during their early lives trying hard to prevent of having any more autism in her family, yet by the same age their siblings developed autism they did too even though they had of all the precautions specified to do for those with autism under DAN protocals. so for her this was of to prove that vaccines did not cause of her childrens autism, they had of no chromosonal defects, they had no noted famiuly history of medical issues that might be of to trigger this, so she is of one who teached me that autism is not caused by vaccines and other things alone..... that for some families there is of other causes. Fot some there is of a strong genetic link. I to also know of a family who has a sone with autism who was late dx b ecause as a younger person was dx as having mental retardations and schizophrenia ( like my own life path) but she tells of me often she lacks where the autism comes from as she shares she sees no one with autism in her family ..... LOL yet if you see of her husband he is of clearly a strong moderatly involved aspergers sort of person...... I to think for some families can be in denial because the autism has just become so strong as part of them they do not see the differences they present or reflect to others, so in many families there is of a genetic link. it does not mean that there is of not other causes. I to see of many childrens with quite involved autism to moderate levels and they are of with chromosomal issues. I will be to add of a pictre to my photo files of the sister of me , her grand sons who I to feel are of spectrum, the youngest one is of much like me as a little person of the same age. He is of not speaking words, babbles much but is not understood to be any words yet. he stares off to space much as in day dreaming much like of me as a little one too. Guest guest
It's all through my family and my husband's family too. One of my mom's brothers was diagnosed as brain damaged and mentally retarded as a young child...he head banged, rocked, talked late, and was fascinated with traffic lights and vacuum cleaners. He's a music therapist now. I've never met him in person as he does not keep in touch with my mom or grandmother, but he does keep in touch with one of my other uncles. That uncle is a neurologist and he firmly believes that his brother was misdiagnosed and is actually autistic. On my dad's side, I have two cousins diagnosed with ASD, one with Asperger's and one with autism and NVLD. I also have two cousins with SPD, and I think all of my siblings would have gotten SPD diagnoses if it had existed as a label 20 years ago. My youngest sister has been diagnosed with OCD along with her sensory issues. My husband has one cousin with Asperger's, one with autism, and he and his sister both have OCD, GAD, and sensory issues. Neither of my kids is autistic, but my son has OCD and some mild sensory problems (mostly tactile). And we're both aware that our odds are pretty high as we continue to have more kids. Not going to stop us though...we're choosing to be optimistic, and deal with whatever comes Amnesty > > to show of a point here. Guest guest
Hello...my daughter has the genetic ASD, Rett Syndrome, so I am a little skeptical that there are environmental factors that cause autism. There are other genetic conditions that have autistic symptoms, like Fragile x and down syndrome. I really think the genetic cause of ASD's will be discovered in time. That being said, I know even in the Rett community the DAN protocals are being tried by parents with some varied success. For anyone who is not familiar with Rett Syndrome, remember it works very similarly to the reports from parents who believe a vaccine gave their kids autism. In RS, there is a severe regression with loss of speech between 6-18 months with no eye contact or social interaction during the regression and autistic symptoms continue throughout life to differing degrees. That is not to say that the vaccines have no effect in kids with this lurking timebomb of an ASD. My daughter has regressed with illness and those shots may have brought on some of those illnesses. But I believe that kids with ASDs who are normal in the beginning will regress at some point, with or without the vaccines. The vaccines may just speed up the process. Just my opinion. Guest guest
Wow! Thank you for all of that info. Sometimes I have wondered if I did everything organic, toxin free would it make a differance. If amazes me that autism is can be caused by so many different things and it doesn't matter what you do it can still happen.
