MTX Injection?

I've been giving myself MTX injections for the last few years and never had

any problems with it. 3 weeks ago, I gave my shot as usual, in my right

thigh, half way between the knee and hip. It went normal, but a few days

later it started to get tender in that spot. Because of the tenderness, I've

given the rest of them in my stomach and there's no problem. But, that thigh

is still the same tender, in that one spot, not swollen or red or anything.

Of course, that's the place my dogs jump up to, where I rest my elbow, etc.

Has anybody else had something like that?

That makes sense, Toni. It seems that one time I gave my shot in that same

area and there was a little blood. It was tender for a few days, now that I

think of it. I like that answer, thanks.

Dennis,

I'm never had any problems with my injections, but would suggest that

you either call the manufacturer, pharmacy, or your doctor regarding

this reaction. So far all I've had are minor itching and redness with

that gone the next morning. Hope it gets better soon.

Funny, but I had a similar thing happen when I did my injection in

my stomach, though I got a huge bruise too. It has happened twice,

and I've stopped injecting mtx in my stomach, at least for now. The

bruising is finally disipating, but I've still got a tender lump

under the skin even though the first time it happened was more than

6 weeks ago. The second and last time I took it in my stomach was

over a month ago. That bruise was also big, but there is no lump

under it.

I've had small bruises on my thighs, but nothing like the two on my

belly. But since I take Enbrel too, it would be nice to be able to

rotate between 4 places, rather than just two.

This if fairly typical for me. When I complain about a pain or other

problem, even to the point of making an appointment with a doctor, the

problem goes away before I can get to the appointment. It's like this with

my sore thigh. It's significantly better the last two days. Do the rest of

you have things like this happen to you? Another day or 2 and I'll be fine.

Weird...
