If you feel like he's managed you well to date, it might be worth processing

this with him. I know time is scarce, so at your next visit, come in with your

list, but put an item on there to " discuss doctor-patient relationship " . You

could say that you're sensing some impatience from him and you're not sure why

he wants you to take RA and fibro issues to your PCP. That gives him the chance

to talk openly about how he'd like to manage your care from here on out. If he

balks, or responds badly, you know it's time to find a new rheum.

I have a wonderful pcp and rheumy - and they actually TALK to each

other! Perhaps you could suggest that he contact your pcp so they

could coordinate your care . . . or, the other way around if you have

a good relationship with your PCP. Mine coordinates my " team " of

docs, keeps track of everything going on, and runs interference with

any of them if I have a problem.

Feeling like my docs understand me and want to help me does me more

good than any medication. I think it would be worth looking around if

you can't work out the issues with your current rheumy. Good luck!
