Thanks, Sally. Yes you did answer my questions. I'm so sorry that

you've had such a bad time with your hands. I hope you're able to

find a solution that will help you. Having hand problems are so

limiting on what we can do!

Take care,

wrist. I had 4 knuckles on the left hand done. Three monthes later

had 4 done on the right hand. Surgery on Wednesday, I went back on

monday and had the dressings removed. They put on a splint-palm of

hand to past the wrist. Each finger is wrapped seperately, and

maintained on traction type from bars attached to the top of the

splint ( I called it a jig). Therapy was to remove all this

apparatis and make all the knuckles bend at an amount determined by

the therapist. This is done for 4 to 6 weeks or what is needed to

accomplish good movement and strenghth.

Broke - Mislocated. I went back to the hand surgeon and we replaced

7 joints this time.

Sally,

I think that I've only heard two people in our group ever talk about having

had finger arthroplasty, and not very recently.

I hope the latest replacements serve you well. Do you know exactly which

type was used?

They are made of silicone plastic. We used two different styles. One is (180

degrees) straight, and the other is 10 degrees. The 170 degrees looks natural

and was easier to gain strength and dexterity. I must say that the left hand

(170 degree) had less damage, so that statement may be wrong.
