Hello, I am new to the board. We have a 10, almost 11 yeard old

daughter, that is Autisic. I have no idea of where she is one

the spectrum. She is in a special day class at her school. She can

dress herself, do simple tasks, brush her teeth, some chores, is

potty trained, but needs help, in cleaning, when BM, (I think it's

laziness and a little fear of not getting clean enough). She can

tell us of her wants, has the ability to have a limited conversation,

basically yes, no, etc,. Can use the computer and play video games

quite well. She is a great speller, and does mulitiplication, to a

certain degree.

She is also, very emotional, echo's and stubborn. You really cannot

have a normal conversation with her and does not have a normal age

appropiate play. Therefore, " normal " kids do not play with her. She

still flaps her hands.

We are going to try the gfcf, diet. We have already started with

what she takes to school, but have not completely go full throttle.

She used to ride horses and just finshed up kicking boxing. We are

going to get her back to swimming and are on the waiting list to get

her back to riding horses.

I am definetly looking for support and advice. We are starting to

pull our hair out with her. We know that she is starting those darn

preteen years, which is hard enough on the " norm " kids, she is really

compiled with the issues.

Sorry this was so long and I hope that I can really find the time to

be able to hit this board everyday. Not always easy, I have two

other kids, boys, 3 and 15 months.
