Oh, as far as myself... I am in at least moderate pain all the time.

I had a few days last week when I really felt GOOD, and it was

_fantastic_. But in a year, that's the longest I've gone without

pain. At least it gave me hope that it it _might_ actually be

possible.

Thanks Marina. My dd is trying to talk me into becoming a veggie too.

She has been following it for over a year now. She had her cholesterol checked

and

it was great and she is o.k. with her iron level which I was worried about. So

good for you and her. I dont think I have the will power to follow a diet like

that.

Joy, you are not being too emotional. It gets to me, as well. My

own family didn't get it until they saw just how sick I was

getting. My dad keeps telling me that it's because of my diet. He

thinks that just because I'm a vegetarian that I get sick all the

time!! Truth is, I've been a vegetarian for nearly 25 years. This

is the sickest I've ever been. He gave me that same song and dance

when I had to have a hysterectomy. The fact that I had

endometriosis, just as my grandmother did at my age, had absolutely

nothing to do with it. His answer to everything is a good steak and

a glass of wine will cure all. Of course, I'm the only one in the

family with an excellent cholesterol level!! LOL Don't ever let

someone think that you are being too emotional or that it's all in

your head. Just reading the posts on this site should show you that

it's not the case at all. When I feel like the world is crashing

down on me and I have no support, I come here and see that I DO have

support. THIS family understands. Take care, Marina

Exactly. I (after hip bursitis so bad I could not sit) had two discs

removed and decompression surgery for the spine (stenosis).

Scar tissue filled up the spaces and more :(

Finally, because of all the back problems, I was diagnosed as having

arthritis of the spine.....

I wonder if this is true in your case?

Something to ask....

right now it is KILLING me to sit on my right " buttock " at the computer.

Last week I had a steroid shot. So far, it made me better for a couple of

days.. I can't stand, I have stenosis.

Gosh, it has to get better.

At least with RA, it gets better as the day goes on...NOT so with my hip

bursitis.

Complain, complain....(grin)

Hi everyone

Especially everyone struggling with hip pain.

I just joined this group, because I was recently diagnosed with RA.

The first thing that got me on this group were the postings about

hip pain.

I have it for years now. After initially diagnosed as bursitis and

having had prednisolone treatments it did not cure. After an MRI it

appeared to be coming from the lower back!

worn out cartilage on the discs lead to less space between the

vertebrae, and so less space for the nerves going down to hip and

leg. Sometimes the pressure is severe, causing stabbing pain in my

right hip. (seldomly going down to the inside of the knee)

Strengthening the lower back muscles, hip, glutes and hamstrings

improves it quit a bit.

Sitting and/or sleeping with a pillow under the knee helped, too.

But sometimes it seems like " they " are stabbing me with a screw

driver...

This info is for all of you still trying to figure out what is

causing the hip pain.

I hope to find some answers about doctors, and diagnostic tests,

diets, etc.

take care
