Guest guest
Greetings On the topic of RA in families, My dad was diagnoised with RA in his early 20's and on disability not soon afterwards, As a child I watched this man try to live his life with the constant pain and he had all the symptoms of it, his elbows had lots of fluid on them, his toes had to be broken to straighten them and so forth, at that time all he had for it was aspirin. He died at 48 with a massive heart attack about 30 years ago ,Apparently he had had Rhumatic fever as a child and apparently it had damaged his heart. I have 5 brothers and sisters, and we all have arthritis and various problems with pain.My mother now age 78 has it as well, so it would look like at least in my family that its a family tradition. I havent gone to any specialist for all my symptoms just my family doc. have had many blood test but not any conclusive other than the symptoms, exray shows arth.in hip and the rest of which he says is osteo , RA and Fibro Pat in the Ozarks.
