Guest guest Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 Just wanted to let the group know my experience with my first Orencia infusion yesterday. Aside from taking 4 hours out of the day (driving, waiting, etc.), they were able to find a good vein the first time, sat me in a recliner with a little color TV and gave me my choice of drink. The medication itself did not react. I did have some hot flashes last night but that just might be me All in all, it wasn't bad and from what I've been told, if I were to have a bad reaction, I would have had it already. So now, the main concern is it effectiveness as I used my last dose of Humira last week. It's hard to tell because I was in so much pain prior that I got 10 shots in different areas so I was actually feeling good, which doesn't happen much. I guess when the shots wear off, I'll know more. Meanwhile, I'll probably be lurking around. It's nice to know that there is someone that understands. My boyfriend is a great guy but he never even asked how the treatment went. It took about 3 IV's before I noticed. No side effect noticed at all (other than looking for a vein). I wish you well with the drug. It is helping me.
