Guest guest
I think if you truly have RLS, you KNOW it. It probably will be the first time in your life that you feel totally out of control with your muscles, Your legs move on their own, there is no way to stop it by using your muscles. It is very annoying and scary. Pris

I think it could be from lack of potassium in the leg problem, do you take prednisone? It can cause this lack. Also my doc told me it is from carpel tunnel in my hands. They " freeze up " and hurt.....can't shake the legs out, but can shake the wrists out. So, I wear braces.... But consult your doc.. Guest guest
In my case, RLS displays itself a little differently. It feels like my muscles have been in a cramped position for a long time -- like how it would feel if you were stuck in a small box. It feels like I need to shake out my muscles or stretch them to get them " uncramped. " It's extremely uncomfortable. But no matter how much I shake out or stretch them, they continue to feel that way. There's no way I can sleep like that -- it usually affects both my legs and my arms. A few years ago after I'd tried everything to get some sleep, after several sleepless nights, I went to my doctor's office and camped out on her doorstep until she got there, and I started crying -- I was really out of it from the lack of sleep. > I think if you truly have RLS, you KNOW it. > It probably will be the first time in your life that you feel totally out of > control with your muscles, Your legs move on their own, there is no way to > stop it by using your muscles. > It is very annoying and scary. > Pris
Guest guest
I also have Restles Leg Syndrome. My mom who is 84 has it also and she read the vitamin E helps. We both tried it and it is amazing how much better we both are. You do have to take it everyday but it did work for us. Also it is inexpensive to purchase. Guest guest
ok, i do get restless leg syndrom real bad. But, does anyone else get restless BODY syndrom??? I'm not joking. Sometimes it feels like the restless leg issue, only it's all over my body. I am so envious of my cat with the way she can stretch. It just looks sooo satisfying to her. I want to be able to stretch that way. Maybe that would help with the restless body!!....marina
Guest guest
Yes! I've had " restless body " before, too. It's EXTREMELY uncomfortable! > > ok, i do get restless leg syndrom real bad. I can stretch out my legs and try to see if it helps, sometimes I do have to get up out of bed when that happens. I do not get restless Body syndrom but I am sure that is terrible. Guest guest
It's also important to know what the side effects are for the meds we are taking, because some of them can actually cause RLS. I had severe RLS for several years. Nothing helped. Then I got a new doctor. She took me off of Paxil, because one of the side effects can be RLS. Six months on now, I have no sign of RLS. Don't let the side effect list scare you, because not everyone gets side effects from their meds. But sometimes it's good to know what the possibilities are. > > Thank you ! > > The information you provided is very helpful. I do walk often, take > yoga and do light weight training.
