, Glad your trip to Hawaii was good. Must have been nice to get away from the cold and snow. Today it was in the upper 80's here in Tucson and I laid out in the sun and finally got some color. Now I fit in with everyone else here! When I was coming off the Vicodin and Soma, I had Klonopin to help with the anxiety and to take away some of the side effects. I also took meclozine, which is an OTC drug used to combat vertigo, nausea, and vomiting. But I also found that it helped with the anxiety as well. This may benefit you, but you should check with your doctor first. e ----- Original Message ----- From: Heer Sent: Thursday, March 21, 2002 9:53 AM Subject: questions and help Hi everyone, it has been kind of quiet here it seems, I am hoping someone will have some ideas for me on how to deal with the fact that now that I am home I am craving the vicodin, it isn't that I can't handle the pain, I think I am just so used to taking them that I am obviously addicted to them, they are very dangerous drugs to get attached to like this, here I am struggling with another issue, all brought about by implants, it amazes me what they have done to my entire life! It is very very frustrating too, to know that I have had to give up so much because of implants, including getting stuck on pain pils. My suggestion to everyone here is to be very very careful with pain meds. They can help you but in the long run you need to be very careful not to abuse them as they can be tough to get off of. Love and hugs PS if anyone has any ideas about how I can get through the terrible anxiety that I am having right now I would love to hear it. With that in mind I am off to work out at my new gym, I am in need of a good sweat session. Love ya

e I wanted to ask you if you have any ideas on why my back is hurting so much today? Do you think that coming off of vicodin 10 days ago would be causing this? I am so confused, it seems like my back is getting worse and worse and I don't know why. I wish I could get rid of pain, I just don't know what to do now as I am in constant back pain since the flight home, could it be related to flying? Arg, get rid of one thing only to get another that is as bad or worse.

, I don't know why you're having so much back pain. I would be willing to bet that it is a combination of flying, jet lag (stress), and coming off the vicodin. If you have been completely off the vicodin for 10 days, though, it more than likely is not related to your pain receptors being "up." Withdrawal from narcotics can take anywhere from 5-10 days, so you would be at the very end. However, anytime you stop a narcotic that you have been taking chronically, your body will go into a "shock" as it adjusts to not having the pain meds. The pain gates will be opened and your pain will return in full force. This is a combination of withdrawal from the meds and the fact that your body is now having to adjust to pain without the aid of the narcotic. However, the intense pain is usually just temporary and once your body adjusts to not having the narcotic, the pain usually lessens in severity or diminishes significantly. You just have to get past the first 2 wks. But the fact that you were on an airplane for a long time, there was a time difference, and you went from hot to cold, could also be playing into this, making your pain much worse than it normally would be. If you haven't taken the vicodin in 10 days and really want to stop, I would hang in there. Perhaps let your doc know the pain you're having just so he is aware. In the meantime, do comfort measures like heat, meditation, acupuncture, massage. Once you get back into your normal routine, the pain may also diminish as well. Good luck! e ----- Original Message ----- From: Heer Sent: Thursday, March 21, 2002 4:43 PM Subject: Re: questions and help e I wanted to ask you if you have any ideas on why my back is hurting so much today?
