MIA rheumatologist

I live in Austin, Texas and my rheumatologist has simply gone MIA. The

office staff has no info, just states " he's not practicing anymore " and

we don't know if he will again, but if he does he won't be practicing

here.

I never received any notification from him whatsoever, no contact, no

explanation, nothing other than confirmation that he is NOT ill.

After having RA for 43 not much gets to me anymore, but this did. I

was distressed to say the least. This was the best rheumatologist I

ever had and now I must start all over, gather records, xrays, pay new

patient fees.....

Has anyone else experienced this?

Anyone else see this particular rheumatologist?

Anyone know anything?

I am curious who do you see in Austin. There is a group of rheummy's. Dr

Crout is good but very hard to get into. There is also Drs. Cepada, and

Tew. Its really hard to get in to see rheummies in Austin area. Sad to say

the choices in this area are pretty piss poor. I see a Dr Abercrombie at

and White medical center in Temple...she sucks...so don't even waste your

time with her. She is also leaving practice as well. I guess I will see

either the new person they hire or Dr. who is still there. They also

have a Nurse Practitioner Pam Tyler....I have been trying to get my hips

injected now for two months...and she is the only one that " has the time " to

see me.

So I will post more after I see her next month.

There are two other rheummies in this part of central texas, Dr, Jundt and a

rhemmy at Kings Daughters clinic in Temple. Dr. Jundt is good and his wife

is his Nurse practitioner. I really liked him...but I had to change due to

insurance. The other doc at KDC is suppose to be really good...but I have

never seen him. It might be worth the drive if you can not get anyone to see

you in Austin area.

I would also check the Arthritis site for a list of docs.
