Guest guest
Lyndsay, Although I am sorry you were diagnosed with Fibro, I am thankful that you are beginning to get some answers. The " not knowing " is always the worst. When you know, you can begin to deal with it. I have never taken Tramdol but have taken Flexeril in the past for back pain. It's a muscle relaxer and it can make you drowsy. That's about all I know. I also have sleep apnea and use the CPAP machine. I can tell you that if you are diagnosed with sleep apnea, find a mask that fits you and use it every night. It DOES help. On nights that I fall asleep without my CPAP, I wake up exhausted and sometimes, with a headache. Even during my worst flares with RA, the CPAP helps me to rest better than I would otherwise and I wake up feeling better than I did when I went to sleep. The best thing about the CPAP I think is that it requires no foreign chemicals to be put into your body. Just good, clean air does the trick! P.S. I have RA, Fibro & Sjogren's (and the sleep apnea). I'm also just south of you in Alvin. in Texas " Mrs. Castro " <chocolatewookie@...> wrote: My Rheumatologist, who is my new best friend, has diagnosed me with Fribromyalgia. I am still being tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis and also Sjogren's Syndrome. I am so glad to finally have at least one diagnosis and know what is going on. She is ordering a sleep study because she suspects sleep apnea. She is starting me on Flexeril starting tonight and Tramadol twice a day. Anyone with experience with either of these, I would appreciate any suggestions/tips. Thanks to all of your for listening to my rantings and ravings. Guest guest
I know how you feel about your Rheumy! So nice to be validated and treated like a human being who is in pain! Mine is such a comforting sweetheart. I saw her for the first time last Friday. Answers are great. Accepting what's going on is another thing. I started the flexeril 4 nights ago and it has helped me alot. I also have RA so I am still learning one pain from the other. Getting better sleep has helped quite a bit.
