Guest guest
For those whose kids take zoloft, I am curious- did most of your children gain weight with zoloft? And how long was it until you noticed improvement (if you did)?
Guest guest
My daughter started Zoloft I want to say 6 to 8 months ago. Started at 25 mgs and is up to 150 which is where we're going to stay. She did not gain weight. She has a tendency to be a little underweight to begin with. And, while it's not a 100% improvement, I would say, she definitely improved probably about 70-80%. She's so much more pleasant to be around. My question is, how long can they stay on that stuff? > > > For those whose kids take zoloft, I am curious- did most of your children > gain weight with zoloft? Guest guest
My daughter has been on zoloft for less than 2 month, I am pretty sure she is under 100mg. She is in a study so we dont know the exact dose. She is very sensitive to medication and cant tolerate anymore. She has lost about 4 pounds recently...she isnt really interested in eating that much right now. > > > > > > > For those whose kids take zoloft, I am curious- did > most of your children > > gain weight with zoloft? Guest guest
Has anyone had problems with zoloft making their child aggressive, or have uncontrollable rages? > > > > Subject: zoloft question > To: > Date: Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 12:02 PM > > > Â > > > > For those whose kids take zoloft, I am curious- did most of your children gain weight with zoloft? Guest guest
Absolutely, yes. He became a monster. So aggressive and defiant. He was really upset about how he was feeling and wrote us a suicide-type letter. He said he was going to live in the wild so he didn't hurt us. He also said he'd leave some of his things to remember us by. It was disturbing. He didn't have another dose of Zoloft after that. The doc switched him to Celexa, and he's been much better. Guest guest
Thank you for all the replies. I know adults seem to gain alot of weight on zoloft so was curious about real life experiences in children. Why does it take so long for these type of meds to work? > > > Absolutely, yes. Guest guest
My son had a negative reaction to zoloft as well. He was switching from Prozac to zoloft. He experienced increased irritability, which was already a problem - the zoloft intensified it even more. He was aggressive and angry all the time new took him off very soon after noticing these symptoms. He has since not been on any medication. Sent from my iPhone > > Absolutely, yes. Guest guest
My son was also on risperidol which caused weight gain so I can't say if zoloft alone did. I think any of these meds can have that side affect though. Sent from my iPhone > For those whose kids take zoloft, I am curious- did most of your children gain weight with zoloft? Guest guest
I have two daughters on zoloft and there was no weight gain with either one of them. Their OCD improved within a week or two of starting the zoloft. They have both been on zoloft for about 1 year now. Guest guest
My 7yr old takes 25 mg and my 13yr old takes 50mg, but she should be taking 75mg. She doesn't like cutting the pills in two, so she just takes 50. These are the doses they started with one year ago and still taking the same dose.
