I am expecting to be denied/ Did they give you a reason why they denied? I have heard it is even harder to get SSDI when you are young. Guest guest
It is very difficult to get SSD, I fought for two years and two appeals and am finally getting my second check just this month. I was considered young and I was 47 when I applied.Do you have a SSD lawyer, this is a must i am afraid. There are many that do pr bono, and take a percentage of you back pay when you win, nothing if you loose. Also perhaps your rheumy can suggest a private or state agency where they diagnose the degree of your disability. in WI " J. LeBlanc " <alicia7375@...> wrote: I am 29 yo, single mom in Massachusetts. Anyone else experience probs with the SSDI/SSI system? I am about to lose my home/car/life. I am $30,000 in debt to my family from personal loans to pay for bills over the years, and $20,000 in student loans, that I cannot have written off until I am slated as disabled by SSDI. Eventhough my PCP of 28 years, and Rheumy of 3 years, can attest to my disabilities. What the heck is a person to do?? Please help, all advice will be appreciated. Gotta go, my hands are killing me. from Massachusetts
Guest guest
, My heart definitely goes out to you. I know you are hurting so no need to respond to my message. I too was denied but that was the way the judge talked to me and he blamed me. He admitted the disease was severe but said it was my fault so he denied me. It was very subjective. It just depends on the personality up there deciding. It makes you want to just touch them for 10 seconds so they can feel the amount of pain you're in like in the movie " Powder. " I would say keep trying. If you have those diagnoses already why not apply with them as primary and the others as secondary disabilities. Talk to your attourney first. This is out of my area league. Make sure your child is in no danger with filing under those diagnoses. I didn't pursue but seriously considering it. I should have. I had help and I would get less because I have help. Never give up and hopefully you don't keep getting the same person to make the same judgement. I won't say the name but my family doctor at the time told me to go back to school train for something else because I was too young, that I was not going to be approved for the SSI. I feel that was excellent advice. Yet in your case, I would keep trying just the same becuase that could open up more benefits for you to finish school and train for something else you can do with RA because the money you are awarded will not help you and your child to live a comfortable life but it will open up doors for you if you can get it. best wishes, Ebony
