Guest guest
Sharon, Is it a constant pain or just when you move around. Is it a muscle pain? This is commom, I get many emails about this. Remember that the port is stiched to a muscle, sometimes with sudden movements you can pull on the muscle and have pain. If you do not have any other symptoms this is probably the case. Warm compresses help. Guest guest
Laurie If it is a pinched nerve you'll know it cause one of your arms won't be as strong. Hold both arms up and out to the sides have someone push down on your arms. The side with the pinched nerve will be so much weaker. I get a pinched nerve in my c-3 vertabrae in my neck every once in a while. I go to a Chiropractor to get it healed. If I don't go it just gets worse. The pain eventually runs down my arm into my fingers and my thumb starts to go numb. I'd say if it doesn't feel like it is getting a little better day by day then go to a Chiropractor or at least to a doctor. The doc could give you pain med and muscle relaxers. Good luck hope you are better soon Colleen
Guest guest
I've been taking the class at Gold's for about a year and while it has helped me loose weight, stay 'tight' it has not necessarily helped me build muscle. My stats have been 135 lbs, 16%bf for a year.It has NOT helped me have defined muscles, you know, the Rhina from dancing with the stars look! The class is good, but you are not going to look like the photos you see in BFL taking it. To grow muscle and improve your BMR you need to do the separate work outs. I do two upper body work outs and then on Saturdays I do Power or Pump whatever the class is called these days because I really like the way they work my legs and I already have some good definition in my legs. You can't increase your weight too much in the class because you have so many repetitions. The class is really good however, and the energy is awesome. Good luck, A fellow Gold's Member in GA > > There¹s this cool class at my gym (Gold¹s) called Body Pump which which is a > group strength class using barbell with weights that you increase and > decrease during the class. Guest guest
I agree . I take a similar class at Bally's, but only in addition to my regular weight training. It is good for toning and maintaining muscle, but you aren't going to really gain a whole lot of serious muscle. To recover, just try to stretch it as much as you can, massage it and it will eventually go away. Time will heal it <jonathansmom2003@...> wrote: I've been taking the class at Gold's for about a year and while it has helped me loose weight, stay 'tight' it has not necessarily helped me build muscle. Guest guest
Thanks Tara and . You¹re both right that the Pump class should be a supplementary workout. I work at home so I really enjoy the interaction in the classes and was hoping it would be enough. I enjoyed being coached and got a lot of really good technique ques from the people teaching the classes which is great for a beginner like me, so it certainly has value. I¹m getting there You gals are great! Thanks, Laurie San Diego On 3/2/06 5:09 PM, " Tara Winnett " <twinnett001@...> wrote: > I agree . Guest guest
: Ouch indeed! I would say to use ice on your toe to help with swelling and pain. Can you wriggle your toe joint? If not, and the swelling or discoloration becomes very bad, go to your doctor. There is not much they can do for a fractured toe except to tape it to the next toe, but you don't want a permanently fused toe either! Like we need something else to hurt our joints and cause pain!
