Guest guest
I am so sorry Sally. Are you taking pain meds regularly before the pain hits full blast. Another day things will look a lot brighter. Guest guest
Hi Sally, Hope you are feeling better today. May I ask how long did the replacements last the first time? Did they wear out and that was the need to have them replaced. I asked my out-of-state rheumatologist about having surgery on my hands (xrays were not good) and was told it would not help the function of my hands. He didn't seem to reccommend it and didn't refer me to anyone. What were the benefits for you the first time around? Totally understand the not sleeping. Quite a few of us here having trouble sleeping because of the pain mostly. No... many do not understand, can't begin to comprehend. I think this is the kind of pain, unless you've been there, no way to even imagine it. Pain is in the category with bad news. No one likes bad news, especially when they can't offer suggestions to relieve it. Some stay to comfort... others flee... which is why support groups are so great. Hope all goes well with recovery. peace and healing, Ebony peace and healing, Ebony --------------------------------- Get your email and more, right on the new .com

Guest guest
Sending good thoughts your way! I suggest you treat yourself to a manicure (when you're feeling up to it). Heck, it you're going to be in pain...at least your nails will look nice. --- Sally King <simplesal2002@...> wrote: > sorry, but i am having a rough night. > had the joints replaced in left hand > yesterday(second time). even with the pills i can > not sleep. > i sure appreciate everyone here. > it is hard to deal with the outsiders, they just > don't understand at all. > > > > > --------------------------------- > Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Sally, I'm sorry you're in so much pain. I hope the replacements will be successful and you'll feel better soon. If the pain gets really bad, maybe your doctor will give you a different pain med. This group is full of very understanding people. a On Sep 8, 2006, at 3:17 AM, Sally King wrote: > sorry, but i am having a rough night. > had the joints replaced in left hand yesterday(second time). even > with the pills i can not sleep. > i sure appreciate everyone here. > it is hard to deal with the outsiders, they just don't understand > at all. Guest guest
Oh, you certainly have my sympathy! I've only had one joint replaced, and the first few days post-op were absolutely miserable. If it makes you feel any better, I am _REALLY_ glad I did it. That joint is pain free most of the time now... It's actually one of my least troublesome joints!<g> But it is hard to keep that in mind when you're awake by yourself in the middle of the night because you're hurting so much. Feel better soon! --- In , Sally King <simplesal2002@...> wrote: > > sorry, but i am having a rough night. > had the joints replaced in left hand yesterday(second time). even with the pills i can not sleep. > i sure appreciate everyone here. > it is hard to deal with the outsiders, they just don't understand at all. > > > > > --------------------------------- > Messenger with Voice.
