Guest guest
Happy Birthday to Mandy-I hope you feel really well for your special day! AND: Happy Easter to all! Now for the " Not so Happy " ... It is really funny(?) how medicare will send you to a rheumetoloist(and pay for it...);let you get exams and lab work(and pay for it...);BUT...The Doctor writes you for a perscription that is BEST for YOU;and the Medicare drug company WON'T pay for it-they won't even help! How can I get on Kineret(Anakinra =spelling?) for $1400.00 a month??? I tried to get help from the drug companies(as Barbara suggested- Thank you for trying Barbara!!);and they don't answer my emails. Another good example: Medicare paid for my Bone scan-right? They won't pay for the Actonel!! I have osteoporosis(osteopenia);but they won't help the doctor to STOP the progression of it,by helping me get medicine. So-I am living on samples from TWO doctors on that one. I know that a lot of you have this problem, also;but please be patient with me-I had to vent to someone... Thank you... I will bow out for now. Sincerely;Bram...to have swelling forever;and a future fracture in my karate class...thank YOU medicare drug coverage. P.s.:Thank the higher power that they pay for my PAIN medicine and my depression medicine(and we had to FIGHT to get THAT!!) oops-Said I would bow out! Bye! Guest guest
Bramwell, I am also looking at how to pay my portion for Kineret $422 a month! My insurance didn't want to pay either but my Dr fought them on it & got it appoved on a trial basis for 3 months but I have to pay 1/2. I logged on to Kinerets website http://www.kineretrx.com/ & there is a lot of information & I called them to register for the patient hands on program & talked to a couple people. They were more than willing to talk about cost & mentioned there may be ways to get help with costs if needed. Maybe you should try to call it is a toll free number. On a side note I got my prescription filled at Costco (not sure these is one where you are) it was $1000 instead of $1400. I have heard that maybe there is a way to get the meds from Canada & the cost may be less. Hope this information helps.
