Guest guest
Golly, Janet, I can't believe you'd insult me like that! Right square in the back! LOL Anyhow, it is hard to suddenly stop doing all we never had to have help with before, man or woman. It's just that it has been bred into us men harder so we do take more time to soften up. All I know you can do, Judith, is to help from afar at first. Don't help too much, but be there when he needs it. And, of course, be his friend. When I was dragged down by the RA, I had many of the same problems. None of my " friends " were there, as was most of my family. Even my wife had trouble accepting the fact that I wasn't going to work again, and that now is her turn. It's been almost 17 years and Betty and I are doing great since she learned to understand, and I have a couple of 'fair-weather friends' that are there for me just after I needed them, or just before. Remember: Time and understanding, Time and understanding, etc... I wouldn't have been here before, myself.
