Guest guest
Hi , I am so sorry that you are going through this. Could you call your doctor to get pain meds? I use them at night when I know I am having a bad day it helps me sleep and feel human the next day. Do not know if you can do this with having your girls but that is the only thing I can do. I had my meds changed just recently when my legs were hurting so bad and it has helped alot. Hang in there we know you are in pain, other people just don't get it. I can look good but still feel like crap. Hugs Marsha bp101_brat <bp101_brat@...> wrote: It is 3:30 am EST and I am sitting here just miserable as ever. There is nothing anyone can do and I know that; but I wish there was sometimes. I feel badly for my girls they dont really understand what it means when " mommy is having a bad day " . I am having trouble even getting out of bed; and the simple fact that I can type right now is amazing!!! Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to relieve some of this pain and get some sleep. I am so tired and just cant get any sleep with the pain in my joints right now. I would appreicate any feedback possible. Guest guest
, You are not a drama queen. You are a woman in pain who is not getting proper relief. I've been there. I'm sure many of us have been. Please tell us more about your pain. Is it FMS? RA? What medications are you on besides prednisone. Here's my example: I've had FMS for the past 3 years and RA for the past 3 months. For whatever reason, this past month has been one of my worst. I have one good day, one bad day... I take methotrexate for my RA which my rheumatologist has just increased. She has put me on a lose dose of Flexeril at night for my Fibromyalgia and Ambien CR so I sleep well. For pain, I take Tramadol 4 times per day, although I have Vicoprofen for really bad days. My doctor also wants me to get some exercise - walking, nothing drastic but enough to get my body moving. I hope you feel better. Paige > > It is 3:30 am EST and I am sitting here just miserable as ever. I am in > the middle of a terrible flare and getting no relief even with my > increase of prednisone. Guest guest
Hi , Sorry to hear about your pain. If it is localized, like shoulder, hip, etc., ask your RA if you can get some shots in those areas. It's not a cure, but it should help alleviate the pain. Also ask for meds to help you sleep through the pain. Best of luck. Guest guest
Paige~ Thanks for your support. I was very tired and I feel like sometimes that makes things worse. I havent been sleeping due to the pain; which has seemed to get worse over the last week. I have seronegative RA and questioning Lupus. Out of the eleven criteria I have six of them; but I have been on Prednisone for almost a yr and my labs are normal. I have pain in the small joints of my hands and feet and my knees are terrible. I had my six year old tie my shoes this morning so I could go to an eye doctor appt for my VF test! That really helped my hands. I am also on Plaquenil which heeds the testing and eye exam every 6mths. Also with all the autoimmune I have been diagnosed with epilepsey; so I am on lots of meds for that too. I am jst so sick of feeling soo bad. And besides me suffering so do my wonderful little girls. I just wish I could be like I was a few years ago; running, skiing, and just out enjoying life. Now I dont have enough spoons to get through lunch most days. Thanks for your concern;it means alot to have support. > > > > It is 3:30 am EST and I am sitting here just miserable as ever. Guest guest
I don't know if this works, but, I was told to get one of those memory foam mattresses, Walmart has them, and as soon as I can get the money saved up, I am getting one for me. I already got the memory foam pillows and I love them, and they do make a difference, so I think the mattress will too. I sometimes alternate a moist heating pad with an ice pack, and this will help me a little. I wish with all my heart they could find something to help that does not carry the side effects. When I wake up I lay there for a while afraid to move, cause I do not ever know when will be a pain day. Luckily for me for now, the Enbrel seems to be working. Guest guest
I wish you well with the foam mattress. I hated it. It held my body heat and was too warm for me to sleep on. I take a muscle relaxant at bed time to help me sleep with less pain. kitt021355 <kitt021355@...> wrote: I don't know if this works, but, I was told to get one of those memory foam mattresses, Walmart has them, and as soon as I can get the money saved up, I am getting one for me. Guest guest
There is no one any fussier about their bed than I! I have Select Comfort and it makes all the difference. Actually we have 2. One with the topper on it and one without. The one with no topper I got so that I could have my own topper and change it is needed. I have a memory foam topper on it but sad to say when I bought it I did not know the difference in quality of memory foam. Even so I love the bed. I also have an electric mattress bad, which is better than an electric blanket. I turn it on before I go to bed and that warm bed is sooooo delightful. Guest guest
I also have a Select Comfort bed and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's worth every penny. Whenever I have to sleep in a hotel bed, I either get very little sleep or wake up in so much pain I hurt for days afterwards. > There is no one any fussier about their bed than I! Guest guest
Yes the memory foam mattress toppers definitely do help... and another help is those really soft tiny foam bead filled pillows...( kinda like bean bags) I used one of those to put between my knees when I sleep on my side they are almost weightless and work great as a cushion so the tender knee joints don't hit each other. > > I don't know if this works, but, I was told to get one of those > memory foam mattresses, Walmart has them, and as soon as I can get > the money saved up, I am getting one for me.
