ty for the link and all who resppond. no i didnt sleep much at all, as for

the pain meds so far i hate it. makes me nauseus and dosent work very long

prayers i can get surgery asap and begin to heal quickly...ty all

It's pretty straight forward. I'm allergic to a lot of stuff, so I always

look drugs up - even if the doc says they're ok...better safe than sorry!

That's terrible! I hope you were able to get some sleep and that someone

will be able to help you with your children.

Sue in TN sent you a good link about oxycodone. When you talk to one of your

physicians next you can ask if, in your case, there is anything in

particular to look out for.

The nausea often subsides as your body gets used to the drug. Starting low

and going slow can really help.

Of course, don't break or crush time-release tablets or capsules.

Ask your physician about this and do mention the fact that you are still in

pain (that will probably improve with a little time, too).

Dear , so sorry to hear this . . . with all you've gone through,

now this. I do hope you can get help with the kids, housework, etc.

Your poor daughter, this must be hard for her to understand. You all

will continue to be in my prayers, I've never taken you off my list.

As to the pain meds, I would think nausea and a general fuzziness

would be the biggest side effects. You definitely don't want to try

and drive or do anything like that. As if you could . . . I hope the

pain lessens soon and the surgery goes well. When will it be? Let us

know, I'll add some extra prayers while you're under. Have they told

you how long it should take to heal? Another baddie from the

prednisone. Has your doc put you on something like Fosamax? Sounds

like it might be good, even at your age. I hate prednisone!

i see the ortho tomorrow morning at 915...no idea on when surgery will take

place, hopefully ASAP. i'm looking at months for healing. not onlly surgery

itself but physycal therapy as well...SIL has my youngest, oldest is over a

friends house cuz he has school 2morrow ect. waiting to see what tomorrow

brings.... ty hugs

comminuted fracture is a severe break. I will be

offering prayers that you will go through surgery and

healing with good result, and will recover quickly.

Indeed, let your little one know that this was just an

accident, it can happen to anybody, and nothing that

is going on is her fault - give her a big one-armed

hug from me, okay?

You are so very right about Prednisone - it will cause

the bones to become more brittle and thin. It may

give us relief of pain now, but in the long run, if

one can do without this medication, it is for the

better.

Please let us know how it all goes - my heart goes out

to you, my friend. I know your family will be there

to help you through this.
