Guest guest
Hello I have RA in my wrists and hands and recently have been getting pains in the palms of my hands. I would describe it as being the underside of my knuckles but also the areas where the hand would crease when you close it. It kind of feels as if I've been digging my nails into my palms but the pain is constant. I had something similar last year and my rheumy said that it sounded more like tendon problems as opposed to the actual joints. Does this sound right? My knuckles are puffy, a bit sore and maybe a bit swollen, but the most painful area is the palmside. Would tendon pain feel like this, or is it more likely the knuckle joints? I'm Irish but live in Japan and can get to my rheumy any time I want, there are no waiting lists where I am (just waiting rooms, lol) but I am wondering whether I should go talk to him or whether I should wait it out. Anybody have anything similar? a, I was only half surprised at the article you linked the other day about the 4 year waiting list in Ireland. My mother has a similar wait for a neurologist - there are nowhere near enough specialists in Ireland, with very few public as well as private consultants. I'm glad I got sick in Japan! lol AnneMarie Irish in Japan
