Guest guest
Hi a: Welcome to the group! The people here are very supportive and helpful. Our moderators keep us updated on information. I have gotten so much out of simply reading the postings - I have been in the group now for about 4 years. I truly do understand your frustration at not being able to get a proper diagnosis. It takes time to figure out with autoimmune system diseases which one you might have because they present with similar symptoms, and some have no blood work that can help with diagnoses. I have Fibro, RA, Raynaud's, and OA. Anemia is very common in RA, and also in Fibro, so that is definately something that you be concerned about. As far as your wrist drop, have you been seen by a neurologist? Could this be more of a nerve problem connected to some sort of disc problme? I have not heard of this happening in RA or even in Fibro, so I cannot tell you any thing that can help you, sorry. There is no " cure " for any of these illnesses, but there is hope that you can control or decrease the symptoms of pain and disability, joint destruction, etc., but the proper treatments. Whether that treatment is by medication, as I am doing, or if you choose to try a more natural approach, that is up to you. The result you want is decrease in your pain, and if what you are doing is not working, find another doctor, and think about another type of treatment. There is also a CFS/fibro group that I am a part of that you should perhaps check out too. They might be better able to answer your fibro questions, as, I am still learning about it myself. The anxiety and depression are very normal responses to having chronic illness and chronic pain. Have you looked into anti-depressants? I am currently on an anti-depressant, Cymbalta, which is also supposed to be good for peripheral neropathy and nerve pain, as well as helping with depression. There are lots of good medications out there which might help you. I don't personally know of Dr. Dryland, although the name does sound familiar, but beware of quick fix or miracle cures - there aren't any. We truly do understand what you are going through, and are here for you to come and vent, complain, tell us your good times and bad times, how you are doing with your meds/treatments, everything. We even talk about our pets! I know you will be happy you came - take care - Kathe in CA --- Santana <happybluerainbow@...> wrote: > I am new to this group and I am at my wits end.
