Guest guest
Hi , Sorry for the delayed response. Our net has been playing up for the last few evenings. I had been on Effexor XR for a couple of years before swapping over to a more " pregnancy friendly " alternative in Nov 06. It was taken as an anti depressant in conjunction with a separate mood stabilizer (for Bipolar). I found the Effexor pretty good for me at the time. I was at the time (pre-banding) continuously, slowly putting on weight. But this was the case on every different combination of drugs that I had been on for the 8 yrs since my diagnosis so I can not blame this on the Effexor. I found that is was effective in controlling my depression and that I did not have any other real side effects that I can think of. The only reason I went off it was because I wanted to have a baby and it is not safe. Hope this helps. I think with these types of things you really have to give them a go as everyone reacts differently to them. What works for one does not necessarily do for the other and I guess the side effects will also be different for everyone. I will keep my fingers crossed that this is the right one for you. Best wishes B
