Guest guest
HI Danna, Sorry for the very belated reply. I have been a member at my local Curves for the last 15 months and I love it. This is 13 months longer than I ever actively maintained a membership at any gym in my life. I go 3 times a week, every week without fail. You go around the circuit for 30mins, do you're stretching and you are out the door. The circuit is designed to work all major muscle groups and you never feel sore the next day. You take your heart rate 3 times during the circuit so you can make sure you are working out at the optimal " fat burning " zone. There are no mirrors, it is all women and no body wears leotards or lycra. There are women off all ages, shapes and sizes and I have always felt very comfortable there. You have a full weigh in and measure on the same day each month. They weigh you, take all your measurements and calculate your body fat percentage. They ask you a routine set of questions to make sure you are completing your 3 workouts each week, drinking water, eating healthily etc. Then they print out all your results with a graph showing your weight loss and cm loss over the last 6 months. I find this very motivating. I am good friends with the girls who work there and they have good incentives that keep me motivated. They give out Curves dollars and you collect these and can buy merchandise- t-shirts, towels, water bottles etc. We regularly do challenges that usually last for a month to 6 weeks where you have to get signed off for a minimum of 3 workouts per week and they weigh and measure you at the start and finish. Then they have prizes for the biggest loser or team and prizes for just finishing etc. They have a great international website with success stories, articles, info, and a forum to chat with members from all over the world. You can also get a travel pass so if you are out of town, interstate or even overseas you can workout at any Curves nearby (and there are plenty of them everywhere you go). I know this type of gym is not for everyone but as you see I love it and will never join any other gym. Just in case any of you are wondering….. No I do not work for Curves… maybe I should??? Anyway that is more than enough out of me. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday night. Cheers B > > I'm thinking of joining a gym - there are 3 ladies only gyms near me Curves, Body Shape and Contours- all opinons would be appreciated
