Knee replacement and hip pain

Hi!

I had a total knee replacement(TKR) done in Oct.(the knee works great!). I am

having intense pain in the same hip as the TKR. The surgeon had told me that my

leg with the TKR is longer than the other so I have a 1/4 inch lift in the other

shoe. I am fine while I am sitting or lying down but can't stand for more than

a minute without pain shooting in my hip or lower back. I am back at work and

took what was left of my oxycodone. Found it did not really help with the pain.

I am on a list of med and Orencia. At first I though the Orencia was not

working but now I am thinking it's the difference in leg length.

Has any one else had a TKR and then had severe pain in the hip and/or lower

back?

Also who would I call the - surgeon or my rheumatologist?

Any help would really be appreciated!

Joyce

Joyce,

Happy to hear that your knee is good, but sorry about your hip.

I'd call both physicians.

Not an MD
