Guest guest
Wow - that's fantastic! Thanks so much for all the interesting feedback. Really interesting stuff - and very very encouraging. OK..Im back to squeeling with excitement again! A huge thank you to all of you...people like yourselves who have been through this are very important to me at the moment and I really appreciate your thoughts. I've just come back from my personal training session after 10 days of no exercise and Im a hurtin! Felt good to be back in the swing of it though- Im trying hard to work on fitness with the lead up to the op so it will hopefully help the recovery process. - are you around? Haven't heard from you in ages - what's going on? > > > > Me again! > > As my date for the band gets closer I find myself sometimes so > excited > > about getting the journey started i can be heard squealing with > > delight....other times I catch myself experiencing the very normal > > jitters about the operation and the settling in period > > afterwoods....and I guess my new life with the band. Guest guest
Thanks Fi, for getting back to me, I am just curious as to how I am likely to be...I hate my apron so much! I am hoping the thing will pull up and flatten as I lose more weight....although I havent ruled out a tummy tuck in the future either.... Well done on your weight loss My weight goal is 70kg but I still have a long way to go there, lol. One question for you....is excess skin a prob for you? I am wondering if my "apron" will ever go away, thats all.... Hi Juzzy, There is no fill for the first month, but due to your tummy being poked and pushed, you don’t feel hungry. I was on a liquid diet for the first moth post op and was not hungry. My brain told me I was I kept saying I want toast, and prawns and 2 chickens, but really I was fine and had no hunger. I lost 12kg in the first month. I loved my band from day 1! I started at 105kg and now at 67kg it’s coming up to 2 years since I was banded. It all takes time. Hope this helps you out a bit Fi -----Original Message-----From: SydBand [mailto:SydBand ] On Behalf Of juzzytaylorSent: Thursday, 10 January 2008 11:11 AMTo: SydBand Subject: Random questions... Guest guest
Thanks for that Danna. Are you going to the Northies get together on the 18th? Congratulations on 13kgs down already - your amazing. Hey Juzzy - good luck - I'll be waiting with baited breath to hear how you go. Kate - thanks for your comments - also cant wait to hear about how you go...as you say - it really is early days for you yet. I went swimming today at our local pool...ran into all these Mums I met when I was in hospital having my little one. Usually when I bump into them Im filled with a sense of shame and embarrassment that I was not only unable to bounce back to the weight I was before pregnancy (as bad as that was in itself) but Ive just piled on the weight since then. To me those girls seemed to effortlessly sail through the first 24 mths post birth and have moved back into their careers, their tight jeans and are having their 2nd child now....usually - oh woe is me...but NOT NOW!! This year Im excited and for the first time in a long time - optimistic about my weight loss goals for this year. Its great to have that sense that for the first time - Im FINALLY going to get some PROPER help for this weight problem that has ruled my life.....I understand it isn't a solution, and the road ahead will be difficult - but to finally have a little faith in something that will help me is fantastic. Just thinking aloud - taa. > > > > Me again! > > As my date for the band gets closer I find myself sometimes so > excited > > about getting the journey started i can be heard squealing with > > delight....other times I catch myself experiencing the very normal > > jitters about the operation and the settling in period > > afterwoods....and I guess my new life with the band.
