Guest guest
My nada always tried to make me look like her. She use to tend to act like the queen all the time. - Everyone wants to be like the " Queen " . She would buy me clothes like hers and make-up like hers. She is a beautiful woman, but I want to look as little like her as possible! I get really insulted when people say i look like her.
Guest guest
Hi Edith My face looks very much like my nada's. Gotta live with it I suppose. Just hoping that I have not inherited any BPD tendencies also. So far the only other person who has suggested that I have a mental illness is Nada. The only people who have suggested or said outright that nada has BPD is a physician, mental health nurse and community health nurse. Whew! Nada learned recently that there can be a genetic disposition to BPD, so now she rants that probably EVERYONE in the family has it. HA! Deny, deny, deny. Everyone else is to blame except her. Guest guest
When I first started setting boundaries, nada would say that " I was dealing with MY issues right now. Guest guest
Very interesting question. I do not look like my Nada at all, thankfully. I look very much my father, and have some characteristics of one of my Nada's brothers. However I do look and sound like my sister - who I also suspect has BPD. Because one difficult person in my life was plenty, I seperated from her early on, never hearing from her unless she wanted something (money). However she has done some seriousely awful things to one of my brothers whom I love very much (love all my brothers very much). Needless to say, she is not my favourite person. She came to Europe for christmas two years ago and I found her embarrassing to be around, making inappropriate jokes, telling strange and embarrassing stories from the past that neither I or my brother, who was also here at the time, have any memory of. She ended up staying at my place, which I tried to resist, but could not continue to do because family she was staying with were starting to get annoyed at her behaviour because she refused to adjust to the habits of the household she was a guest in (not spooking about the house at all hours, eating, in other words, the basic stuff). She used my place to camp out and rest in with no obligations to behave - saying she slept all day because she was sick, and pissed of with me for not wanting her to watch TV all night because it would keep me awake and I had to work. Shortly afterwards, if I caught myself by chance in a mirror or a window and I was shocked at my reflection - it was like looking at her face (even though we are far from identical). And I would catch myself laughing, and would hear her laugh. Was almost enough to have me running to a plastic surgeon and laughter (instead of speech) therapist. NOT NICE!! Hope I do not see her again soon, it is too spooky. Its worn off now thankfully and not looking for a reminder. Cheers Margot

Guest guest
Janine... You are NORMAL!!! Ok... you have not stretched your pouch, that is hard to do. You are just experiencing what a band is like without fill in it, amazing as it is, a banded person without fill can eat quite well and normally. Take it easy and don't worry. When you surgeon gives you one or two fills... you will get some restriction.... and it can take a few fills to get that feeling. Don't hesitate to ask us anything, we will answer any questions we can. Cheers... Mel > > Howdy to everyone. > > After recently being banded (yee-har!) I had a great loss of 5kg in the > first week. Guest guest
Hi Janine, Like you I am recently banded and I found that I lost quite a lot the first week or two but once I reached normal foods the weight loss slowed right down. So like the others have said, you are normal. I have now had one small fill and it has made a lot of difference. I could probably still eat more than I am suppose to, but as I no longer feel really hungry I only eat a small meal. I have found that even with a small fill the weight has started to move again. Last week I lost the same amount as I had lost over the whole of the previous 3 weeks. Things should pick up when you have had a fill. Ha - imagine me giving advice to anyone - never thought I would be in the position to do that 8-) Danna > > Howdy to everyone. > > After recently being banded (yee-har!) Guest guest
Hi Janie, I know too well where you are at the moment. I was banded just over 4 months ago now and I was feeling the same. I thought I had streched my pouch as I just didn't seem full. I found out that my swelling healed quicker than some and that my banded needs to be tighter to get the restriction. Rest assure you will be fine. Congrates on the weight loss so far. For me it is a wild journey and I have loved every bit of it so far, The good and the bad. I look forward to reading how you are going. If you ever want to chat please fell free to call me. 0416086801 > > Howdy to everyone. > > After recently being banded (yee-har!) Guest guest
Janine Nothing sounds wrong you just need some fill and all will be good. Guest guest
Gee thanks so much guys! I feel sooooo much better to know that I am 'normal'. I definately need a firecracker under my butt to get me on the right track eating-wise though. Never mind...today is a new day. Can't wait to have my first fill. My poor husband is worrying that this large outlay of $$$$$$ has all been for nothing!! Patience is a virtue, eh! Cheers. Janine.
