Getting a wheelchair or scooter

Hello all,

I have decided to bite the bullet so to speak and get a wheelchair

so I can be more mobile with my family. It is horrible to have to

ask for one to me, but I just cannot keep up with them as I am in so

much pain walking or standing that I just don't go anywhere. If I

have a wheelchair, I am much more mobile. I won't use it all the

time, but for many, many events this would make my life so much

better.

Here is my question, has anyone gotten one? How do you go about

getting one through your insurance? I am sure my rheumy or my GP

will write me the script that is not a problem. I have Aetna for

insurance. I don't get my Medicare until November. I was thinking

I should probably get it now while I am still on the Aetna as it is

very good insurance and besides that I really cannot wait until

November. I would miss the whole summer with the kids.

If anyone has any information they would like to share you can email

me at tracierae143@...

I want you all to know that I am not giving up; just accepting the

facts that if I want to be more moobile and enjoy my children while

they are young and attend some stuff with them then I need the

wheelchair. Staying home alone all the time is definitely not the

answer.

Thanks to all,

Tracie in Maine
